Rally up a team of 2 to 8 people, choose a team captain and follow this simple 4 step guide to join the Get On Track Challenge!
Each individual needs to register a personal account before they can create or join a team and participate in a challenge. To register click here.
To get a team started, one person in your team needs to take the lead and create your team. They do this by clicking on the 'create a team' button in the ‘team leaders/challenge set-up’ tab, once they are logged in. This person will automatically become the Team Captain.
To create the team the Team Captain must know the email addresses of all the other team members. When creating the team, the team captain chooses a track, a team name and invites all other team members to join.
The Team Captain is responsible for managing the team and can invite new team members or delete old team members if needed. The team captain is also the only one who can create a competition or register your team for an 8 week challenge.
To join the team, you need to be invited by your team captain. This invitation will be sent to you via email after the team has been created. Click on the link to log in and accept the invitation or log in to your account, select the ‘my invitations’ tab and accept the invite.
If you have not yet registered a personal account you will be directed to the 'register now' page to create an account. Once you have registered, you can access the 'My invitations page' to accept the invitation.
Note: if you are already part of a team you will need to withdraw yourself from that team before you can join another team. You can only be in one team at a time.
To withdraw from a team simply log in to your account select the ‘my account’ tab and then click the ‘withdraw’ button.
Once your team is created, the Team Captain can join you in one of the two challenges:
The 8 week challenges are competitions with set start and finish dates and occur a number of times through the year. Choose from one of three tracks and compare your progress to the other teams in the challenge. In the 8 week challenge, you will be competing against teams from all over the state.
To take part in the 8-week challenge click the ‘join 8 week challenge’ button in the ‘team leaders/challenge set-up’ tab. Once your team is registered in the 8 week challenge, all team members will receive an email outlining the competition details.
Create your own competition and invite other teams to challenge you! This gives you the flexibility to start a challenge whenever you like.
Once your team is registered, the Team Captain can create a competition by choosing a track, a timeframe and start and finish dates. The Team Captain can then invite other teams to join the competition.
Once the challenge starts, log in each day and visit the ‘My challenge’ page to record your physical activity and fruit and vegetable consumption. Remember to aim for thirty minutes of physical activity and eat 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegetables every day!
The accumulation of your team's physical activity and fruit and veg consumption is tracked on the map. Watch your team map update each time you enter your physical activity and as you receive your fruit and veg bonus each week.
If you can not see your team's map make sure ‘flash’ is installed on your computer.
You can also chat to other teams in the competition by visiting the ‘Challenge Wall’ page.
Sound like fun? Register now!
Please note: The Get On Track Challenge is not a race. However, challenge management understand that some teams may want to take a 'race-like' approach to the challenge. This is allowed, however, the main aim of the challenge is for participants to be active and eat plenty of fruit and vegetables for the duration of the challenge and have some fun along the way. The essence of the program is that it is a 'challenge', a challenge to become more active, make healthy food choices and be educated about your health.
